This was the third year that Mr. Efthymios Navridis awarded the “Professor Vassos Karageorgiou” scholarships to 2 outstanding students of the Greek Studies Department of the University of Tirana.

The honored ceremony that took place on Tuesday, November 13, at the University Hall, as was always crowded by students and professors, was attended by the Counselor of the Greek Embassy, ​​Mr. Gregory Delavekouras, the Dean of the Department Mr. Arkur Sula, the head of the department, Mrs. Sofia Deligiorgi, as well as other professors of the department.

On behalf of the The Greek Embassy, the Head of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs, Mr. Sarantis Moschovis and the head of the Press and Communication Office of the Greek Embassy in Tirana, Mrs. Glykeria Mitropoulou, also attended the ceremony.

Mrs. Sophia Deligiorgi, the department manager, thanked Mr. Efthymios Navridis for his gesture, who thanked the Dean of the Department Mr. Arkur Sula for the honor and especially the acceptance of his offer, as well as the students of the department, to which he wished success, because thanks to them this beautiful event took place. Shortly after, Mr. Navridis talked to them about his great professor Vassos Karageorgiou, who passed away earlier this year and whose name was given to the scholarship.

Mr. Delavekouras thanked Mr. Navridis, while, addressing the students, also stressed that the Embassy will continue to reward their efforts.

Lastly, the Dean of the Department Artur Sula through his moving speech, thanked Mr Naupridis for his gesture, a gesture that, as he said, shows goodness and humanity.

At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Efthymios Nafrides donated to the two scholars the volume with the poems of George Seferis, with a special dedication in order for them to remember this day.
