SCHOLARSHIPS CEREMONIES IN TIRANA 2018

On Monday, November 20, 2017, Mr. Efthymios Navridis awarded for the second consecutive year, the “Professor Vassos Karageorgiou” scholarship to two excellent students of the Greek Studies Department. It was a beautiful ceremony that took place at the University of Tirana, in the presence of students and professors. In particular, Mr. Gregory Delavekouras, the Counselor of the Greek Embassy at Tirana, Mrs. Rudina Vrioni, the Deputy Dean and Mrs. Sofia Deligiorgi, the Head of the Greek Studies Department attended the ceremony.
The Professor, Mrs. Sofia Deligiorgi, opened the scholarships event with a short speech, thanking Mr. Navridis for his initiative and expressing her certitude that it will be continued in the future.
Mr. Delavekouras followed in also congratulating Mr. Navridis. He also took the opportunity to announce that the Greek embassy will follow Mr. Navridis’ example, as, according to his words, initiatives like the one of our Managing Partner, contribute in strengthening the bonds between Greece and Albania and provide Albanian students with a great opportunity, since the ones qualified in the Greek language have the ability to work in the many Greek businesses based at the country, as Greece is the largest investor in Albania.
Mr.  Navridis’ generous gesture was also praised by the Deputy Dean, Mrs Rudina Vrioni. Finally, Mr. Efthymios Navridis, after congratulating the two scholars, thanked the Professors, the academic staff, as well as the university authorities for doing him the honor to accept and approve his sponsorship in the name of the University. Mr. Navridis confirmed that EGNA Navridis & Associates will continue to reward the ones who excel in their studies and referred to his great teacher, Professor Vassos Karageorgiou, whose name has been given to the said scholarship. He closed by offering to the two scholars, Anxhela Laska and Pranvera Heqimaj a copy of Nikos Kazantzakis’ book “The Life and the State of Alexis Zorbas”.
The University offered to Mr. Navridis a souvenir plaque in which the word “gratitude” in Albanian, is engraved.
