ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE HELLENIC – ALBANIAN BUSINESS RELATIONS INDEX, JANUARY 2016

On 26.1.2016 an event was held in the Cultural Center of the Orthodox Cathedral of Resurrection in Tirana for the presentation of the first Hellenic – Albanian Business Relations Index.

According to the announcement by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Greece in Tirana, “it is the first systematic recording and presentation of enterprises of Greek interests in Albania, which are active in banking, telecommunications, information technology, trade, industry, health services, education, construction and structural materials et al.

In this framework, the Hellenic-Albanian Business Relations Index will constitute a useful and dynamic tool for the deepening of economic collaboration between Greece and Albania, as well as, for attracting new Greek investments in the country, where, according to official statistics of the Central Bank of Albania, Greek investment exceeds the ¼ of total foreign direct investment (FDI) stock.

Greece, with an invested capital which amounts to € 1,169.41 mil. is by far the first foreign investor in Albania, supporting the Albanian Economy and society towards development, increase of tax revenues, employment, technology transfer, training and prosperity.

The first part of the Hellenic – Albanian Business Relations Index includes business profiles, in three languages (Greek, Albanian, English), as well as, full contact details for  a significant number of enterprises of Greek and Greek-Albanian interest, which are active in Albania.

The second part of the Index includes useful information of economic, commercial and business interest and it is addressed to the Greek companies interested in expanding their business in Albania. “
